Master StudentAbout
Marie-Louise is a Master’s student in Computer Science at ETH Zurich, with interests in secure and reliable systems, AI-assisted software engineering, and human-centered intelligent systems. She recently founded LupAi, an AI consultancy focused on helping organizations design and integrate practical AI solutions. Her current work explores how AI systems can better model subjective human preferences for personalized recommendations, in the scope of a personalized recommendation app called YK-YouKnow, that was launched in April.

Project
User-Conditioned Modeling of Subjective Attributes for Personalized Recommendation
This project explores how AI can better understand subjective preferences in venue discovery. In apps such as YouKnow, users often look for places based on atmosphere, style, occasion, or “vibe,” rather than only objective filters like location or price. The project investigates how multimodal venue data and lightweight user feedback can be used to personalize recommendations according to each user’s interpretation of these subjective qualities.
